Concerro (BidShift) CEO
Last
year in October 2007, I joined
Concerro, Inc. as President and CEO.
The company (recently renamed from its original name
of
BidShift, Inc.)
is
a SaaS (software-as-a-service) provider to the
healthcare market.
Concerro has
developed an online auction system like eBay that allows
nurses to offer to work on shifts at hours that suit
them, and allows hospitals to fill open shifts and
better address patient needs.
Concerro
service is now improving outcomes, helping with the
nursing shortage and reducing premium pay expense at
almost 200 hospitals nationwide.

HR solution, for Human Capital Management (HCM).

node to build WiFi and wiMAX networks for cities.
BS Construction &
Design, Inc. I have joined the Board and
invested in a California company focused on large
construction and design projects for Caltrans.
I
was briefly asked to join the Advisory Board of

Valley.

elementary and middle school grades.

Sunol News
The next Sunol Glen Unified School District Board
meets every month on the 3rd Tuesday of the month our new Superintendent, Molly Barnes
(no relation).
Recreation update
In February, I returned from an unsuccessful attempt to climb Mt
Aconcagua, one of the "7 Summits" via the
technical Polish Glacier route. Hopefully, I will be able
to return to conclude this unfinished business.
Currently I am recovered after my second shoulder surgery
(this time on my right shoulder) by Dr Millett at the
leading Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, CO and have started
on a new extreme home fitness program, P90X. I highly
recommend Beachbody's
90-day P90X program because it is so comprehensive,
including diet, strength training, yoga, kenpo
(kick-boxing), stretching, plyometrics (jump-training) and a
brutal abs routine!
I continue to row with the guys from what used to be the
Stanford Rowing Club, then named Redwood Creek Rowing Club
and now the Masters program with Palo Alto Rowing Club:
we purchased a new Sykes quad and a 2-yr old Hudson 8 and
honored our club motto (to race with the minimum of training
and not come last!) with a 4th place finish in the 2008 San
Diego Crew Classic.
My UK School News
Country Life magazine recently highlighted
Tonbridge School as being in the top three public schools in the
UK, with Eton and Westminster, on A level results,
and in the top four, with Eton, Westminster and
Winchester, on Oxbridge entrance results.
The Times Educational Supplement 2006 world rankings
of the best 200 universities placed Imperial
College in the Top 10 positions (at #9 - just
ahead of Princeton, #10). Harvard ranked #1, then
Cambridge, Oxford, MIT, Yale, Stanford, CalTech, and
UC Berkeley at #8.
